In Michigan under car lights(neon colors) are illegal while driving. Amber lights can be used as markers all over the car. If i buy a under car kit in Amber color would I be able to drive with it on. And if that isn't legal what about taking marker lights e.g. off a semi, and mount them onto the underside of my car. Enough of the marker lights would produce a bright lighting effect on the ground. They would be legal in the fact that they are only marker lights, but would i get ticketed for it.

in indiana, only red, blue, and green are illegal. Thats what a cop told me a few dasy ago. Any other color can be on while driving, BUT they can all be illegal if you can see the bulb. Dont know if michigan would be the same or not.

Beware of what cops tell you though. I've heard several different version of what's leagal here, in CA. One cop may say it'ok, the other one may give you a ticket for it. Looks like no one really knows the law....

I got green lights, but I keep 'em on only on 'special ocasions', like racing and parites and stuff.
The only reason I got 'em, is 'cause a firend of mine owns a copy of my GSX (we spent months making them identical), and it makes for a really cool effect to have two identical cars roll up to the party... especially if you're a DJ....;D

You will need to ask a cop or someone at a local courthouse. The laws differ from city to city and state to state. For example, in KC, Missouri underbody lights are legal as long as they are not blue or red, and as long as the bulbs are not showing (although I've been told by a cop that the real dick cops will write you up for showing off your car/being a distraction to traffic, but its very rare).

Here's a really good way to find out, trust me I tried it (on accident). First you have to get the attention of a pig in hiding when you walk out of the local BK at 1:00 in the morning, get him to pull up and then get him pissed so that he'll ask you you're age, then act completely surprised to find that you're too young for the city curfew, then when he handcuffs you and your younger brother and takes you "down town" ask him, hey so since I'm stuck with you for a couple hours mind if I ask what color lights are illegal under my car, when he gives you an answer argue you with him (lightly), he'll be so pig stubborn that I swear he'll go get a state and city ordinance manual. Then he'll try to throw it in your face that he was right, all the while you'll be thinking about how sly you were at getting your answer, and why did he put these damn cuffs on so friggen tight.

Alright, well I got pulled for those stupid little lights on the top of your hood.. they were clear but still said they were illegal cause they were mounted above the grill and weren't auxillary lights.. anyway, while i was in his state trooper mobile waiting for him to write up my warning i asked him if the tourquise lights under my car were illegal and he said as long as he couldn't see the bulb and they weren't blue or red that it was not illegal.. I live in NC.. He even showed me in the book were it said that.. but that is here.. don't know about other places..
