i dont feel like spending a ton of money on some underdash lighting at an autoparts store or something, so i figured i could use the same lights i use in my computer. you can find them here. would they work with the power in my car if i just spliced them onto the wire that goes to the cigarette lighter? i am handy with a soldering iron and electrical work, so thats not a problem.

I'm putting some PC cold cathodes in my car. A lot cheaper than the redline neons i have now ($7.99 a pair v.s. $20 each). The cathodes will also be brighter, even though they have a slight white tint... looks cool.

Yea, they will work wired into your cigarette lighter. However, most people will tell you to use a distribution block (if you have one) or take power right off the battery.

I have 12gauge wire to a blade fuse right off my battery. it splits to power my UB neons or my interior neons. I'm switching over to a distribution block, and fusing each tube, when i redo my electrical this spring.
