hey .....I was wondering if rain and snow will affect my paint job.....I have a white with blue pearl paint job and was wondering if I should drive in snow and rain or keep it in the garage while its raining....thanks

i say if the place that did your paint job did a good job, it should be good. if they did a bad job, chances are it might be bad. all I am saying is you get what you pay for 99% of the time:thumb:

If you leave bugs, or bird crap on your car while in the sun for a while, it will mess up your paint. Rain, and snow arent the only worries..... not to mention all the food related items... :p

Rain and snow do very little if anything to the paint. Some areas do have acid rain and that cuases problems. The issue with snow, isn't the snow itself, but the salt/grit/crap that the DOT put on the roads.

Lots of people here take care to only drive on "perfect" days. Others (like myself) use their car as a daily driver. It is all personal preferance.

If you want your car to last forever, don't drive it....ever. Simple as that.

Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING induced by mother nature is good for the paint on a car. It all depends what quality of paint job you want to retain on the car. In most cases, your DSM is probably your daily driver, so what choice do you have......

I live in Fargo ND, probably the worst place to live if you're concerned with snow. I've been driving my car every day now for the past year and a half through the rain and snow and anything else, and I've never had any problems with nature (except other people not knowing how to drive on snow/ice and hitting my parked car). Speaking of that, I had the front end repainted earlier this winter and have had no problems with the paint, other than a few chips from sand getting kicked up at high speeds, so I guess that's the only thing that you'll have to worry about with winter.

The sun is far and away the worst natural element for the car, closely followed by atmospheric ozone. Rain and snow, as rain and snow and not acid rain and salt-soaked snow, are good for a clean car. I love to wash mine on a rainy day, and have the rain remove _all_ the soap.

Then again, I love to drive in wet weather anyway. It's just an excuse.
