I finaly got around to having my windows tinted. I do all the maintenance and repairs to my car but thi is one thing I am not familiar with so I let a shop here in Raleigh do it. I don't want to name the place becuase there were a few things wrong with it but all in all it's not that bad.

Don't mind the fuel door missing, the paint guy has it to match paints for the new front fascia.

The rain gives it a bit more of a reflective look but it's still got a decent amount of reflection to it.

Here's the part that I wasn't too thrilled with. The tint itself is great for what I wanted, film doesn't have huge bubbles, runs the length of the glass, and is really nice. My problem was with the weatherstrip at the top of the door panel. Ther'es small light marks like something was dragged accross the weatherstrip and caught in some areas. Basically... the weatherstrip got scuffed up some. Alot of it buffed out with light rubbing. Plus it had the usual scuff marks for 82,000 miles so I can't get too upset if there's a few scuffs here or there. Obviously if it was much worse I would have gone back to see if they would improve the situation.

This tint is LLumar Platinum Plus series and is about 45% before going on the glass. Every glass has some tint to it from the factory. They do have a different tint that's got the reflective quality to it as well as the tint type (smoked, black, or whatever) but it wsa going to put me right on if not over the legal limit. With a license plate with "420" on it, a loud muffler and a tint job I'd be sure to get pulled over.

Theres weatherstripping that goes inside the door? OMG  How come I have never seen that?

P.S. Tint looks good and is a a little darker than mine on the side windows.

^ i think he said 45%, but i read the part about that, so i could be wrong.

looks good, 45% gives u that almost factory tint. but idk, why not 35%, its not extremely dark, and does give the car a nice look.

No more GOVTRUCK!?!?!?!?!?!?? Bummer. Oh well. You'll have to send me a pic of the new ride.

The tint allows 45% of the light to transmit through it BEFORE going on the glass so the glass will drop it down even more. I didn't want to get pulled by some barney fife mofo who had no real reason to pull me so I stayed in the safe zone.

The weatherstrip is the black, rubber, shiny section where the door panel meets the glass.
