AS the title states....

what is the best HID and headlight unit that is out for the 95-96 category.

I know you can fit the 97+ headlights on but i know there will be a gap cause the 95 headlights arent as rounded off as them. Any pics of the 97+ headlights on a 95 bumbper?

the best thing you can do is get an entire system from an OEM car that has them...

Try gettgin some from mercedes/bmw/acura/lexus/infinity....etc Get 97+ styles and they will last a long time, out perform and look way better than any kit you can ever buy for your car or the 97+ dsm's:thumb: It will require a lil custom fabricating ofcourse...just find one that uses the same type of bulb (and you can even customize different bulbs if you want) and all you need to do is wire em up and find a place in teh engine bay for everything.

i dont really like that gap....

shit...

what kind of fabricating are you talking about?

Buy a HID SETUP like this and fir the projector housing in your stock headlights. You will thank me later.

Also, just swapping in the bulbs does NOT yeild good results (poor beam pattern and blinding of other drivers)

intresting. so how the hell you now get that in yourheadlights? are you talking for 95-96 or 97+ headlights?

good post.

id worry about lotsa diff things, heat buildup, how close, install, etc. hmf. pics?

It doesn't matter what year headlights. The reflector section of the two styles is exactly the same. You just need to mount the projector in the reflector section of the headlight.

This kid has done what I am talking about: http://home.gwu.edu/~nloke/eclipsehidretro.html

I really need to stop wasting money and actually buy the parts to do this. Mine will be very similar to the link above but I am thinking about incorporating the angel eyes ring. The one main difference will be that I will use the trim rings and glass around them to make it look clean.

sweet thanks man.

are you doin this yourself?

if so when do you plan on doin it?

Yes I will be doing this myself. I already have an extra set of headlights. I have split one apart already (melted the crap out of it though) I just need to get the parts from that link I posted before. I am going to fiberglass the projector into the lowbeam section. I am toying with the idea of buying an eclipse projector headlights and working from them. I am not sure if the inner section will swap though (I don't want the gap)

Um, that kind of kit is what I don't recomend you use. The drop in kits are illegal. Stores are only allowed to sell what they have in stock, they are not allowed to order any more. These kits give you lights that look like this:

Cars like this are what caused the kits to be pulled off the shelf.

If you want this:

Then install the projector housing :thumb:
