gauge needles not working [Merged 9-9] stuck broken

they could be getting stuck or something on the new overlays. that's what happened when i installed my reverse indiglo gauges. the gas needle was getting stuck on part of the gauge, so i just trimmed the gauges a bit.

I took off my gauge needles without marking where they were before i removed them the only one i thought i'd have a little trouble with was the gas needle but now i know different. My speedometer is off but i don't know by how much does anyone know how to recalibrate your speedo needles or if it can be done, it is an automatic if that makes any difference or not i don't know

Have a friend drive beside you at fixed speed, then you look at your speedo and see how much you're off by. If you reinstall gauge cluster without glass shield, you can reset needle o the fly.
As for the tank, go to the gas station, fill up and set yout gauge to 'full'.

Same thing happened to me but it was only my oil pressure gauge. Theres a long skinny bolt with a nut on the other side that falls off and it looked impossible to put back on to me. Im just gonna get an autometer oil pressure gauge anyways.

Me too. I installed some euro reverse gauges and my fuel needle is stuck on the 1/4 mark. Now I rely on my empty light.....it sucks, n E help would be apreciated!! late!

and same thing with me , they were hitting the part of the gauge face around the needle ( i cut some of it away to fix it )

That's what I did as well

Basically what others said......Just take it apart again and trim around the gauges that are sticking. Most likely they are catching on the gauge overlays.

Sometimes if your installing new gauges it does help too trim off the sides that are " unnessecery" I had trouble with mine untill I did that, also if your not afraid " rigging" your gauges, use double sided tape i know that it sounds getto but it does work rather well, but just do that if your gagues are sticking at certain areas

I put indiglos in, they worked. noticed when i filled up with gas that my gas gauge never rose. same with the oil pressure. so I took my whole dash apart...again. tried moving my oil pressure and gas gauges and they're both kinda stiff, the oil pressure is a lot stiffer than the gas. any ideas on what i can do to make them both work again? none of the indiglo faces are touching the needles. im totally stumped...everything else works fine when plugged back into the dash.

i took the 4 little black screws out to get the face on, but I put them back in right after. theres a little oval thing that the screws screw into and it fell out, got it lined back up (not sure if its right side up or not, dunno if it makes a diff.) and got them screwed back in. im stumped. the needle itself it stiff when trying to move it. takes a bit more pressure to move it.

Did u remove the needles to put the indiglo's on? IF so, when u replace the needles, they might be pushed in to tight and be stuck enuff that the gagues can't move them. Try that.

Last summer i tried changing my stock needle color to something else with a "tuturial" from one of my friends.. however i did not mark where my needles were before i took them off!!.. i know i know.. i'm a tard A**.. i paced someone and calibrated my needles the best i could.. but i know its not accurate enough.. what kind of place would i go to to get my gauges recalibrated?

not only that..but when i sanded off the orange color from my needles it made em look worse..(harder to see at nite) can anyone tell me how to make them look better without replacing them?

they sell them on ebay for like 60 bucks

Yeah, but that kit requires you to rmove your needles and sand off the orange. Then your suppose to use a marker or paint on the underside of the needle.

eneval, isint that the only way to do it
Yeah, but she said she removed her needles already and sanded them. She doesn't know what to use so she can see her needles at night. I don't see why anybody should pay $60 for a kit, when it requires you do mutalate you factory equipment. I guess it would be different if they sent new needles with the kit. Just my .02. I'd like to do that to my needles to match my gauges, but $60 is $60. I'm sure there's a way to do it without buying the kit.

i never payed for a kit.. i just did it myself.. but fingernail polish.. i didnt think of that either.. its thinker and would explain why it worked so well for u.. i'll give that a try..thanx for the .02=)
