Lakefield,
Ok i have decided to go turbo after reading some depressing threads about the N/t 420A.

my question for you is, if i get the Stage I kit now and i want to add a FMIC to it later can i do it?

i see the Hp output of the stage I is about 200at the crank. What gives the Stage II kit the higher output?

I dont want to be the fastest car around or win every race, but i would like to have a little boost when its needed. So thats the reasoning for my choice of the stage I kit

It's not that it "makes" more power, it is just that with an intercooler, the boost pressure can be higher, therefore creating more power. All the components are the same in stage 1 and 2, Its just that satge two has an intercooler and piping. Yes you can do stage 1 now, then intercooler later.

What would you recomend i do for internals if i install a stage one now and add the intercooler later.

I will probably want to up the amount of boost to what a stage II says and thats about it.

I definately wouldn't want to run anything over 3-4 psi without an intercooler on a built or stock engine. The star intercooler isn't too great anyway. Buy the kit and a different intercooler and get the piping made for you.

any idea as to what i can expect for an average 1/4 mile run time? considered everything is running good.

Why would i not be able run anything over 4 psi without a intercooler?

The stage one without intercooler run i think up to 7PSI maybe lower, i wouldnt think it would be a big problem.

Can you run a stage one kit on stock internals? not talking permanent.

With a stage 1 expect high 14's low 15's if your a good driver. I also wouldnt recomend anything above 5psi without an intercooler. The intercooler cools the air from that comes from the turbo into the engine. 7psi non intercooled is going to be some pretty hot air which is bad for the engine. I am going to be running 8 psi intercooled, so 4 or 5 psi non intercooled will still be pretty quick, and keep your engine safe.

Ok so max of 5psi on a stock motor without intercooler will be alright for a little bit?

What kind of things do i need to replace on the bottom end? i know rods and pistons, but can i use the original crankshaft? or do i need new one?
