5 speed

my car is all stock and it ia an automatic can i change it to a five speed and add turbo. how long should this take if i worked on it this summer with a friend who knws his stuff. as for me i dont have a clue. i am learning

Converting to manual is possible, just not worth the time, effort, and money. As far as adding turbo there are a few kits out for the 420A.

The automatic > 5speed is ALOT of work I would not suggest doing it although I have never do it before but I know someone who has ask The1bill.

i helped switch an auto to five speed and it wasnt as difficult as i thought it would be but there is some custom fabrication u would have to do. but we ended up having to change the computer two. the computers arent the same for auto and five speed.

Hi eclipsegirl i had my eclipse converted to a 5 spd it wasnt so bad but it took like 3 months because 2 of the trannys i bought didnt fit...well thast what the shop said anyway but yea the comps are diffrent i still have my automatic one in so now my speedometer doesnt work and my car does not register miles also axels need upgraded becasue i snaped mine like 4 days after the switch anyways the total cost for me with labor was 2200 dollars < not bad but also i went around to local yards and got most of the pieces my self like shifter and all cables yeah thats the best way to do it because if you get used clutch pedal and hydraulic cylinder from a wrecked one parts will be CHEAP if you have anyquestions about this of putting turbo kit on your car just hollar at me .
