Ok, I have a '98 GS and want to do a turbo build up. I have a TDO-5H 14B Turbo that needs two new seals and the piece that connects to the header and the wastegate. Are the headers the same as the 4G63?? If not, who makes some headers to do the conversion without paying out the butt for a Hahn Racecraft kit? And finally, if anyone has some advice...please let me know!!

Other than Hahn Racecraft's turbo exhaust manifold for the 420a there is the Star performance one. It all depends on what turbocharger you are planning to connect to the manifold, 14b in your case. Since you are going for the Mitsubishi turbochargers (14b/16g/20g) then Hahn's manifold would be the best way to go. If you ever choose to go with a t3/t4 hybrid turbocharger than I would suggest you look into the Star Performance manifold. Unless you know somebody who can fabricate a custom manifold for you - than the Hahn manifold is the best way to go. As for pricing, you get what you pay for. I'm sure if you searched google for a little bit you could find some other places that sell a cheaper turbo-manifold for the 420a. I don't know if I would trust an offbrand with such an important part though.

BTW. Don't call an exhaust manifold "headers" or you will ignite the temper of many tuning purists :D Headers makes it sound like there is more than one header, which there isn't. So just saying header or exhaust manifold will keep you 'flame free' here. PM me if you have any questions, my box is now cleaned out so I can receive PM's, woohoo.

if you watch ebay you can catch a nice turbo header/manifold for a good price i have a custom built turbo header, i noticed that you can get the pacesetter 4g63 tube header for around 125-150 bucks, cut the flang off and get one of those cheap 3/8 420a (custom header flang) and have it weilded to the 4g63 header, the are already set up for a mitsu turbo, i do a few custom turbo kits for various carsand i plan to email pacesetter and find out about getting the headers without the head flang, you may have to get the header pipes moved to match the width of the ports on you 420a but thats cake too, thats all if your into custom work, then more power too ya!
