Well hello I done all searchs and what not and they all been helpfull. But i still need some more help. One is if i buy a non turbo eclipse is it posible to do an engine swap onit and what type of engine can fit? Second whats this of 5 or 6 bolts thing when taking an egine swap into consideration. Please help me out beforei buy something that i wont be happy with. Oh and by the way hi to all you guys and girls i just became a member.

if you buy a 2g non turbo there are no engine swaps, if you want to swap engines buy a honda. if this thread goes into putting a 4g63 into a 420a car i'll lock it just like all the others.

Ya Like ^^^^^^ said there are NO engine swaps unless you have alot of money and time. You can buy the NT eclipse and put a turbo kit on it from hahnracecraft.com, and can run low boost, still be reliable, and have more hp than the factory turbo engines. :thumb:

I was also referring to the 2g cars. If you buy a 1g nt car, if its the 2.0 nt, you can put a factory turbo on it, if its 1.8.....Good luck as I have not heard of many performance parts for the 1.8 nt.

Supposedly some guy did the 420 - 4g63 swap. It will cost a lot of money and involve swapping either the whole front clip and doing major body work or custom fabbing a bunch of engine mounts and crap. Hahn or Star turbo kits are the best way to go turbo and for cheaper. Like mavisky said, "if you want to swap engines buy a honda". Go over to 2gnt.com and read about the 2.4 swap, basically using a 2.4 block out of the cloud cars (breeze and cirus and one other I believe), but there is also a lot of custom fabbing needed to be done with that aslo as well as buying other Chrysler parts to make it all work. I can't remember his name but I think someone was going to start making kits to make it easier to do ie. motor mounts and such.

ok thanks i think ill just go with a turbo kit until i hear things that meake llife alot easier. So yeah thanks guys. Does anyone have a turbo manifold from a turbo car. Or what parts are interexchangeavle. Witht the nt 2 doch engine. Or what turbo kits you huys reco mend. I had a lancer but dont know jack when it come to eclipses LOL.

so your saying get a manifold from a 1gen turbo car.
or what? sorry im confused and im new.

OK my friend has a 1.8...

I'm not familiar with eclipses so I have a few questions...

Is it possible to get good performance out of the 1.8? (nothing wild, but i think he'd like 150+ out of his car)

Turbo's avail for the 1.8?

Possible to swap in the 2.0 from the other 1gs?

ANd he seems to think he can swap in a b18 vtech with the tranny, if he gets custom mounts and the computer or soemthing

please assure me to tell him that its not gonna work

There are very few performance mods for the 1.8. Intake, header, exhaust....Not sure if there are any others without doing some MAJOR modifications which would take alot of time and money. He go always go with nitrous. Cheap, effective, and will give good power. I am not real familiar with the 1g's so i dont know if a 2.0 from another eclipse can be swapped. As far as a swap for a vtec......Near IMPOSSIBLE. With all the custom fabrication, parts needed and everything, he would be past the $5000 mark. Definatly not worth it. Hope this helped:thumb:
