I am 16 right now and I am saving money for the 95 RS. But I want my car to be fast so I was thinking to do a swap to a 6 bolt 90' 4g63 but the engine and tranny in RS is on the different side then in GST so can anyone who have had looked into the Engine bay of bought cars with the engine out of it tell me where the engine mounths and tranny mounts are located? It would be alot beeter if you could like draw it that way it is easyer to understand. And please dont tell me to sell the car and buy the GST or turbocharge the RS because I am not gona do that. For me a GST is not an option. 1.It will cost me more to get it. 2.The insurance will kill me. So it is cheaper for me to buy a non turbo and do a swap that will cost as much as my car but then i dont have to pay one extra 1000 dollars to my insurance every year. and i did searched the site and others but all i came up was with two guys who pulled it of and one almost did it. but one got engine fire and other never told what happended to his car.. and i do know about megnust motor swaps. they tell you everything on their website but its only from 7 bolt turbo to a 6 bolt turbo sawp. One more thing its been killing me since the Evo had came out.
Ok here it is.. Cant you just swap evo 8 engine into the 2g non turbo? because the engine and tranny is on the same sides.. but would it fit under the hood ? and one more thing dont be starting a war now because i just want some educated answer not some crap. and if you want to make fun of me please dont post because its gona get you nowhere. lets just take it slow bc i've seen other posts like this and all they got back was attitude from other members. Thanks You. Sorry about the long post. I just want to learn something.

$1000? Well if you have the car for 10 years, that's $10000. Just as much as it will cost to put that engine in. Humm... what's more logical. No attitude intended. Just cold, bitter facts. Unless that educated custom fabricated mechanic is you.

Edit: You are from Europe. So I think your engine is the 4G63, not the 420a. Am I correct to assume that?

thats funny i know but i just dont want to pay those basterd for nothing bc for me insurance for a turbo dsm will be like arround 2400 - 3000 range (I live in NJ) the reason it will cost so much bc i am a new driver and it is a sports car but a non turbo dsm will cost me less..(i hope so)thats what i've been told on the car show by one guy with his Hot eclipse.

am from europe but i live in US for like 4 years now..sorry about the confusion am gona go and change that but i did saw one eclipse in my country(Ukraine) this past summer..i went there for a visit. but you might assume that bc i have no clue..LOL

it sad where am i from so i choose europe but sorry i've should of known..my mistake..anyways i hate insurance companys....here in US you have to pay insurance bc maybe in the future you gona get into accident i dont like that..in my country you pay for what you damege until then get out of my face..sorry one more time

NO it can not be done and besides it is cheaper to turbo your motor and re-build than it is to swap another motor into your car, look at it like this it is about 3000$ for a stage 2 turbo kit, it is about 5000$ plus to swap a GST(4g63) motor into the car plus no one has actually done it. But the stage 2 turbo kit will give you about 225hp to the wheels and the 4g63 is 215hp at the flywheel. The 420a is a bad ass motor do not under rate this motor just because it is a neon motor dose not mean it SUCKS get a turbo kit it is alot eaiser. Why spend more money to have less HP??

this topic has been beaten to death.

everyone who's ever tried to do this has failed miserably and it has cost them way more than it would have been worth if they did make it work.

buy the hahn turbokit and be done with it all. thread locked.
