Is the HRC blow off valve hard to replace?

Hey-

I pretty much have made up my mind on getting the hahn racecraft stage 1 turbo system for my 1999 GS Eclipse. I saw that it came with the OEM 3000 GT Blow off valve and did some research and people have said that it just sucks. I was wondering how hard it would be to replace that blow off valve with like a Greddy Type-S or an HKS blow off valve once the turbo system is on my car? Do I have to do welding... or is just a simple slip out the 3000GT BOV and slide in the the GReddy or HKS? Has anybody done this with the Hahn System? Thanks

-Tim

You will most probably have to weld on a flange to use either BOV you speak of. If the Hahn pipe has a 1g style BOV flange, then you can get the Greddy BOV to work by simply drilling holes in the flange to fit.

I have gone through 3 blow of valves and have not had to do any modifications to piping... i do however have the stage2 which has the SMIC piping... but it still came with the crappy 3000gt BOV. i have tried the HKSS 2g eclipse kit BOV, Turbo XS RFL generic kit.... and both fit.

I believe siueclipse has the greddy BOV may want to look at his pic index but im sure you should go with the 2g eclipse kits for any BOV you get.

Thanks for all the quick replies. Sounds like it will be easily replacable with another BOV. I just want a different BOV cuz I heard the 3000 GT one just sucks...

The 3kGT one is not that bad, I never had any leaks or anything like that out of it. sounds decent. Now I have a Turbo XS Type H and it bolted right on.
