I have been sending some posts around to the wisemen, but i am kind of stuck here... i want a second engine, would a 94 4g63 fit in my 94 1.8L car... so mounts line up and sh!t?? if not, should i go and buy a 94 1.8L engine and supe that engine up, i want to put in all durable, performance parts.. basically give my car some sack... because right now it doesnt have any... i am expecting this to be a long term project with me adding parts here and there, and i will hopefully do most of the work myself ( if i can figure it out ) so any information i could use would be greatly appriciated... please help me out guys. i am also going to use this is a very extensive learning process.. so please educate me.:talon:

Well i already gave you my thoughts to this subject...lets see if everyone else agrees with me (if they even answer yoru questions as its been asked all to many times before and doesnt belong in this section;) )

I am not sure which section this thread belongs to... sorry guys if you are sick of little people like me asking these big project questions... but i really want to know... please.. any one want to give me help.. and please, i dont want to be told it is easier to just go and buy a turbo talon or to buy a dsm that already has the 4g63... but i am NOT going to.. so.. info would be greatly appriciated.. thanks

So basically you ask for help, and then when people tell you the obvious and smart choice, you would rather only hear what you want to hear regardless of the answers.

There is a reason there isn't much information on it. And take it from me, being 'the first' or 'one of the few' isn't all its cracked up to be.

Thread moved.

tevenor, i am not quite sure on what your saying... i know the obvious would to just buy a talon that already has the 4g63, but the thing is.. i CANT i live at home and there isnt room for another car... i do have a pretty big shed that i am making room for the put a project engine in... i want to work on an engine... i dont know where you are moving this thread to.. i still would like help, but help on what parts i should get... i.e. new throttle body, new cams, new connecting rods... etc..

You can replace your car far easier than perform this swap. Please stop asking to hear what you want, Candela and Tevenor are DSM Gods.

i seriously doubt u will be able to make a 1.8 fast, good luck trying
ur best bet is to sell ur car and buy one thats already turbo, u will spend more money buying a 4g63, the tranny, and all the little things ur going to need to put it in a non-turbo car then its worth, u buy a turbo 90-91 for about $2500, or a turbo 92-94 for about $4500, and u can probally sell ur car for a couple thousand if it has decent miles on it
unless u know someone whos giving u a hell of a deal ur going to end up paying over 2k for a turbo engine and tranny, and if ur lucky u might get it with manifolds and a stock turbo, if not ur going to spend almost another thousand on that, plus several hundred on litle parts, vacume lines, ect to put a turbo engine in a n/t car, plus ur going to need an exhaust(ur n/t one isnt going to work obviously), an intake, ect(although u could get these from a junk yard, but they would be stock parts)
not lets think about all this, ur looking at at least 3k to do this swap if u do all the labor urself(chances are u will need to pay for some things to be done, and labor is far from cheap), u could sell ur car for 1500 and spend that and the 3k u would have spent on the new engine and such and just go buy a turbo dsm just like urs, or u could get one with flip up head lights and have money left over for upgrades or a motor rebuild
