I am going to go with the howell bottom end kit. I am wondering if anyone on this board has it, or knows of anyone with it. If I am going to use it as a daily driver, what compression shuld I go with? I also am going to be running a Hahn stage 2 boost, so I want a compression that is good without turbo, but is good with turbo as well. Will I have more horse power with the bottom end kit than I have with my regular 420A? Thanks guys

P.S-- I am sure I will have more questions, so try and bear with me guys, try and keep the flaming down to a minimum. Later

Sounds like your going to get the bottom end first I would go with 8.5:1 lower compression will allow you to run more boost it will be slower with low comp. an no turbo on it but if you go high comp. 10.5:1 you wont be able to run alot of boost and you better be a master tuner so you don't blow your motor. Go 8.5:1 you will be slower but it will pay off in the furtute.

Or you could go 8.6:1, or 8.8:1 and still have a decent margin of saftey. The internals won't increase HP but the higher boost you can run once they are installed will. You are just putting stronger parts in so they can handle the abuse.

So if I run 8.6:1 then I will be slower but when I get my turbo I will be able to run a higher boost? Is everyone agreeing with me to run with 8.6:1? It might be a while before I get my turbo, maybe like 6 months or so. I am doing bottom end now because I have the money to do it, and I have high milege, and dont wanna turbo having 136k miles. Thanks guys.
