I noticed the other day while sitting at a light during a rainstorm that my hood is getting so hot that it was actually evaporating the water off of it. Anyone else have this problem? Should I perhaps look into having a vented hood made for my car to get some cooler air into the engine bay?

If it's not too hot to lay your hand on, you're fine. The sun gets a dark car too hot to touch, after all.

Visible water vapor (what we call "steam", but isn't [real steam is invisible]) will appear under many unusual conditions, brought on by dewpoint, vapor pressure, and lots of other bewildering and very smart-sounding terms.
