Ok, i have a 95 Eclipse RS, its got 128K miles on it, and im doing an engine swap, i read a really bad story LOL made me have nightmares about doing an engine swap, it was some j1000 guy and kirby goin at it, but look heres my prices, im gettin the j-spec engine EVERYTHING ecu, harness, tranny EVERYTHING for 2300, i have a HUGE facility that is open to my demand to work in, plenty of time and man power, an expert welder for fabrication and about any part i need, if anyone has sucessfully done this please give me some tips, and i wanted to know if the j-spec would directly bolt on or if it was the same engine as an a-spec gs-t, ive heard its been called a " cylcone " or something like that but i really dont know, but the engine is 1800 and the tranny is 500 and thats with EVERYTHING i need, so give me some tips if you can manage or PM me thx

the japaneese 4g63s are exactly the same as the US ones except for the stupid cyclone intake manifold, just take it off and use your current intake manifold, or better yet if your a fabricator, fabricate a sheet metal intake similar to the venom, I dont see why you would need the tranny if your tranny is in good shape, but...if you want it, anyway, the main thing with the japaneese motors is just replace the timing belt before putting the engine in, water pump....just preventative maitenance, other than that, your set

Well that's right if you have a GST already. His tranny won't bolt up to that motor. Your going to need ALL wireing, a new guage cluster, ECU, etc....etc....etc. I understand you hopes here but it will not work without costing you way more money than you're thinking now. For $2300 you could buy a turbo kit and already be faster than this swap will make you. I'm telling you just like we told him anything is possible with the right amount of money, but does that make it worth it? Your going to end up having to have the entire front clip changed out just like he did. It's not worth it, build the 420a. Take $1000 and buy a rebuild kit, and rebuild it, then spend the other $1300 on a used turbo kit or a custom kit and you will spank a lot of moded GST's. Think about the HP:$ ratio here, it's not in your favor. You have a shop build your motor and have a real nice car that's much faster than a GST. To my knowledge one person has completed this swap, and his car never ran right again, and ended up ON FIRE!!!!! I'm telling you why spend $2300 to go from 145HP to 210HP when you could go from 145HP to 250HP with the same amount of money. Not only that but your switching to the gst block to handle more power right? Well to get that extra power you will have to change or upgrade most of that stuff you just paid to have swapped into the car. Someone please explain to me why it makes any type of sence to do this swap.
Please don't take this personaly I am not trying to attack you, I'm just trying to be honest with you.

J-spec engine has 275hp, or at least the engine im lookin at does, well, thx, im not going to have to buy anything aside from maybe some shit to install it, the engine comes with EVERYTHING that i need, but any other tips or things that i will have to do will be helpful, thx

The engines are exactly the same, no HP difference. If that engine has the extra HP it's not from stock items. So what exactly are you buying? I ask because most engines don't come with wiring harnesses, ecu's, guage clusters, transmissions, radiators, ...etc...etc. Are you buying the whole car? I will refrain from any further comments until you are done with this project and give us a report.

The engine i have is a stock engine with a big 16g on there witch came straight from the factory, i bought the engine from my uncle, he sells j-spec engines and stuff, he got it for me, with everything, basically a front clip, but yah im pretty sure ill be the first sucessful one to do it

if the engine came stock with a 16g and the yellow top injectors (which it should have) you just got ahold of an evo 2-3 front clip which won't have half of the shit you need. no eclipse (jdm or otherwise) ever came with a 16g, and the 16g'ed evos were only rated at around 255 hp i believe (don't quote me on that though).

you may want to shop around for a usdm front clip instead.
