Ok I just finished installing my turbo kit and all the way up until 5000 rpms it feels slugish then at 5000 rpms its like the turbo kicks in. Im at 10psi around 3500 rpms. I have missing link and a 12.1 fmu any ideas whats causing my car to be slugish in the lower rpms?

Boost leak.
Pops in my head when i read your post so i would start there as with more info on your setup.

I dont have any boost leaks. It feels like im getting fuel cut at the lower rpms then at 5k rpms I get a boost of power all the way up to redlining. Im running a t3/t4. The engine is stock I just rebuilt it has less than 6k on it, im not sure about the inectors and fuel pump. The guy i bought the car from had it had it turbo chargerd. I looked at the fuel pump and it looks rewired so it could have a 225 but im not for sure. Im running open exhaust pipe also.

So... thats tells alot...

all i see is no intercooler... are you compensating for that?

Lol I was scrolling through this just waiting to read the last post. Perfect example of how not to Turbo a car.

Very expensive lesson to learn. :ohdamn: Do alot of research before you throw some money at it again. There is a ton of info on here to figure out what needs done to make your engine run right. Sorry for your luck just learn from it and don't make the same mistake again.

I hoping some engine management electronics is on the list. That's probably one of the best mods to start with.

5-8k to rebuild a 420a? Are these parts made of gold. You can build a forged bottom end with new pistons, rods, bearings, rings, oil pump and water pump and gaskets and machine work for around 1500. The top end won't need much other than maybe a valve job and valve seals, so you are looking at 200ish there. Add in the timing belt, tensioner, and a few other misc pieces and you are probably around 2,000.
