I did a quick look through here and didn't see this one. If i missed it i apologize and you can close the thread.

A buddy gave me his 14B turbo off his 6 bolt GSX. It's currently getting rebuilt. I was wondering what is the internal wastegate on these set to stock. I don't want to go over 8psi so I was wondering if i'll have to modify it a little.
Thanks

Perfect than I can leave the wastegate alone than 6-8psi is what I wanted.
Thank you.

It's more like 9-11psi. They vary a bit, but you will definitely see more than 8psi.

Hmmm maybe i will have to mod it a bit. Thanks for the heads up. 10 PSI is way too much for that poor little 420A

10psi on the 420a is perfectly fine, esp on that small of a turbo. Only thing you need is a proper fuel setup and a controller for the fuel, IE SFMU/MSnS.

Thanks slo2gen.
Thats good news I can leave the wastegate alone.
Yup i'll make sure to setup the fuel correctly. 12:1 FMU wally 255 and a FCD etc

Thanks again for the help. hopefully i'll have the parts all gathered here soon and can start bolting stuff on.

I have one more little question i'll add into here. I've been reading through the different parts lists on here to go turbo i've got a pretty good understanding now.
However a few times now on the FCD's it says 96+ mine is a 95 do I need a different FCD than a 96+ would need?

Sweet one less thing to buy than and have to wire in.
Other than that the list is the same for a 96 or a 95. 12:1 FMU ETC ETC?

To the OP, why don't you call the person re-building your turbo and have them test it for you, or if your re-building it, why not just hook a bicycle pump with a psi guage up to the WG to see where the WG opens?
