Do I need forged pistons??

I have a 1g 4g63 n/a motor. I plan on putting a turbo kit on it. It smokes now, so I am going to replace the rings, bearings, gaskets, and possibly pistons. The turbo kit that is posted on this site by xylpho says that you need forged pistons installed. Do I really need them if I only want to go about 8psi boost down the road??

Start out with 8:1 pistons, preferably Ross, or JE, dont' go too high in compression, or you won't be able to tune it, and I would hate to see that motor burst.

you might be able to do without forged pistons at 8 psi, but why would you if your going to rip the block apart anyway, keep in mind that a lot of time the smoke is caused by bad valve seals, if you rebuild the block, rebuild the head too, and as long as you have the supporting mods 9:1 compression is fine, just make sure you have bigger injectors, safc, etc etc, the key is all in the tuning, if you go with a higher compression like 9:1 go to a shop where they can help you tune, otherwise, stick with the lower compression ones, unless your a experienced tuner
