Whats going on guys? I have got my turbo system all together. It is running clean boosting well and all seems great. Yet now even if it is just sitting running the car starts to overheat, and it pumps fluid out the catch bottle. I had a bad radiator and just put in a brand new one. I have a new thermostat but i pulled the one that was in it out and it seemed to work smoother then the one i just bought. Any thoughts? :banghead:

FAns, head gasket, leak did you check these things, compression test, there are so many things that could cause it to overheat.

Do you have stock fans or slimlines? Our cars turboed really need 2 fans running to really help cool down in the summer. Had nothing but problems with just 1.

The fans are working fine, and there are no leaks I never thought to look for head gasket. There would be water in my oil though right? There is definitively no water in the oil. I never had over heating problems be for the turbo. Now it is blowing right out the overflow. My air fuel is saying around 14 at start and 16 after warming. Don't know if that helps. The new radiator that bought had a few extra ports on it, I just capped them, they looked like extra fluid tap points. Everything else lined up just fine. Really stumped. Oh ya and there is like maybe 3000 miles on a new motor, so i don't think that it is the water pump.

They are the stock fans, And it was only about 70 today where i am and it was overheating at idle.

put a 160 deg thermostat in it and see what happens. i also had temp problems with my car after turbo but it was because the ram horn manifold was 1/8 inch from my water out let. i fixed it buy drilling a hole in the the thermostat i know its not the right thing to do but it works an i run a cool 180-200.

Looked all over the net this morning cant find a 160 degree thermostat anywhere, for a 99 420a model. Also where did you drill the whole in the therm. My lines are pretty close to the turbo as well maybe that dose take a toll.
