Ok guys so here's her story: She blew her(96 GS n/t) engine and now i'm gonna rebuild it. I'm gonna put in a new short block with JE pistons eagle rods and a remaned crank.

I just wanted a few opinions on which turbo kit i should buy once the engine is done.

CI Turbo Kit 95-99 Eclipse/Talon 420a - CI Motorsports

or the hahns kit?

My plan is to break in the engine first then install the turbo kit and keep it at around 5 psi and break that in too. i'm not gonna go higher than 5psi until i can get a good fuel system with a way to control it also.

Holy hell that's expensive! It's cheaper to piece it together yourself.

Thats WAY to much money, Why don't you just go buy a gst or gsx? It will have a much better aftermarket platform as well as a motor that is already built to handle boost.

whatever you do, stay away from concept illusions, you'll hear nothing but bad things about them from everyone who has ordered from them (myself included). You're better off going with a treadstone kit for a bit more than half that price. (Or buy my used star kit for even less). BTW, I'm pretty sure Hahn no longer makes the kit for the 420a so it's either used or you get one of the last few they have.

Damn your totally right the treadstone kit is about $1800.

I have a question, treadstone says they have a prewelded downpipe but i can't find it on their website, Anybody know where to go?

I don't think they make one... I can't find anywhere on their site where they claim to make such a thing.

Hhhmm I probably read it wrong or somewhere else by mistake sorry about that. So let's say i get the dump to atmosphere wastegate pipe I'm guessing I wouldn't pass emissions right? Does anybody know where i can get a downpipe where the wastegate dumps into it?

You definitely wouldn't pass a visual test, but otherwise you should be fine.

You'll have to make it yourself. You can always buy the Treadstone downpipe and have a shop make the necessary modifications.
