Im looking for someone to give me the basic shapes of all the intercooler pipes. I am going to buy a universal kit off of ebay but the company I am going to buy from makes all sorts of different packages. I want to get the one that will provide me with enough piping. I dont mind cutting some down. My FMIC has the inlet on one side and the outlet on the other. Thanks guys!

Depends. What would I have to remove to make short route work. I currently dont have AC, PS, Air Box thing, and my battery is relocated. So short route preferably.
OoooOo you're a 420A, I may not be able to help you at all. Sorry.

a universal kit should be plenty for a short route kit, i made mine off of one and had plenty of pipe left.
if you need any pics i'll take some of my set up and e-mail/txt them to you

Yeah some pictures would be awesome. [email protected]

Thanks

So I ordered a kit with 2 - 90's, 2-75's, 2-45's, 2-straight, 2-90 couplers, and the rest straight. I'm hoping this will work.

I can try to send you some pictures of mine too if you like...It's a pretty easy process, just time consuming. One thing I wish my kit came with was more 90 degree couplers :(. Other than that I had enough of everything from a $100 universal kit.

i agree on the 90* couplers...mine came with one.

yea, the kit you ordered should be just fine.
sounds like you're in business:hellyeah:

Why can't you use a coupler? You might have to weld an adapter pipe for what would normally be the j-pipe, but if you can weld your own turbofold, an adapter shouldn't be a problem.

It wouldnt be... If I knew how to weld Aluminum. Where can I get the j-pipe flange? I will just make it out of ss.

Just search for "dsm j pipe" on Google Product Search or eBay. There are a ton of them out there for under $20. You will just have to cut the pipe down to length.

I'm not sure that you'll have to cut the j-pipe or that you'd be able to. All of the J-pipes that I found all bend almost right at the flange. However, you might be able to clock the compressor side with a stock j-pipe flipped around, and it should shoot down. You might run into some clearance issues, though. You could do what I have to do, and put some pusher fans on the other side of your radiator to free up some room.

I thought I'd add that I'm using an M30 Garrett from an old Turbo Thunderchicken, thus, my clearance issues and need for the push fans.

How do the guys with the Hahn kit do it?

The turbos in Hahn kits use custom T3 turbine and compressor housings. There's no flange on the compressor housing, it's a standard beaded hose connection. The kit includes a 90* silicone coupler that mounts directly to the turbo.

That's right, I forgot that my turbo's compressor housing is clocked. My j-pipe is cut rather short, but it fits perfectly.

Ok I just got my IC piping in the mail. I also found a guy on craigslist that is selling me his aftermarket j-pipe for $20. I will update you all once I get it on or if i have any other problems. Thanks!
