ok eveybody i need ur opinion. im gonna get a rebuilt 2.2 stoker from howell and turbo my car. but what should i do first, get the block and drive it on low compression pistons for a while or get the turbo kit first. i cant afford both and i i get one it will take a while until i get the other. please help me decide. thanx

Hell I just bought the 2.2L stroker from Howell. I had my car turboed for 4 years before I bought the new engine. If your car is still running strong ( do a compression check ) and you have the money then I would say buy the turbo kit first. If it aint broke dont fix it. When and if you break your engine ( I did not ) and/or you have the money for the 2.2L then get that. I dont think you will like driving your car around while N/T with low compression.

My .02 cents

Well since your going 2.2L you should not feel much diff between the stock and the 2.2L with out the turbo. The extra displacement makes up for most of that comp ratio difference. I would say turbo first though, it'll get you the speed you want for now and you can go up from there. No point in putting miles on forged pistons when you don't have the power to reap the rewards.

How much Hp are you guys getting from the new block and the turbo for around 15 to 20 psi??? And what is the web site for howell's engines? Thanks-
Kevin
