Question 95 Fuel Rail FPR question

Hey all;
On my 95 420a build I'm working on I did the mod to the rail to disable the built-in FPR (will be using a 1:1 SFMU). The question is, do I still have to hook the vacuum line from the built-int FPR it the IM if it's disabled?

Thanks!

Nope, you can leave it disconnected. The stock FPR isn't doing any pressure regulation anymore, it's just plugging the end of the rail so fuel doesn't spill out.

Since I had this thread, I'll ask another question too. I bought the SFMU used off someone and got all the different springs with it. How do I know which spring is what? Is there a 'by the bar' rule or anything specific? It's a Votec (sp)

Call or email Vortech. They'll be able to tell you which spring/disk does what. You might also try their support website:

You should have 2 or 3 springs, depending on if the original owner order the optional third spring.
The standard spring, which is most likely the one you want to you, is the least stiffest. I believe it's also the shortest spring.
Sorry I can't give you a better definition.

This is my current setup and it works great; however, it’s a bit pricey.

If you are using it for a 1:1 AFPR, You need this....

Adapter Ring, Low-gain Ratio (Use with 6Z170-010 or 6Z170-015 for 1:1ā??2:1 Gain) | Vortech Superchargers

As the site said you also need either one of these (6Z170-010 or 6Z170-015) in conjunction with the adapter ring.

When its all said and done your looking at the price around an Aeromotive AFPR!!

EDIT: Here is the instruction manual, there are 4 disks and 3 rings for the SFMU. If your using it for MS then disregard the data sheet disk gains.
