I plan on buying and installing a hahn racecraft stage 2 turbo kit with side mount, any way my question is does the installation require the ECU to be re-programed or does it come with a Fuel Management Unit, and something to fool the ecu in to thinking that it isn't reading positive manifold pressure? I thought I read it before but I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks

Yes, the HRC kit comes with a FCD, but like he said, I'd get the missing link. The ECU does not need any re-programming, the kit uses a rising rate fuel pressure regulator to raise fuel pressure under boost. As with the FCD, it is reccomended the you upgrade to the Vortech S-FMU because the Cartech(FMU that comes with HRC kit) does not hold steady fuel pressure and is nearly impossible to lower the rise rate less than 3:1.

Thanks.
I just talked to the guys that I think I'm gonna have install it, and they said it could take 4 to 20 hours for install. How long did it take you guys? Plus how is your head gaskets holding up?

i have noticed that the fmu drop pressure. i have to keep turning it back up and its kinda pissing me off. im going to get the Vortech S-FMU eventually along with bigger injectors.

my head gasket is holding up just fine. it will take longer than 4 hours to install. it took me and 4 buddies 30 hours to install the kit with a front mount.

i have a custom turbo project going on my 97 RS, but i am still short on a few parts, fmic, bov, missing link, and a rising fuel pressure regulator. if any of you can give me a hand. thanx

I swapped my HG out to the "new and improved" MLS one before the turbo install. The turbo install for my HRC Stage 2 w/SMIC took me roughly 15 hours, but about 3 of those hours were spent driving all over creation trying to find someplace in the $hithole town that had the right socket for the Oil Pressure Sending unit. So total wrench time was about 10-11 hours.
