I have tried to search this but I'm not sure what to search for....?
I just installed a brand new Ball spring boost controller, but no matter how much I adjust the knob on the MBC my boost just stays at 8psi...I have a 3.65 psi yellow spring in the wastegate. I have my Boost Source coming off the Turbo Outlet into the MBC and the into the wastegate side port. All boost/vac lines are clamped tight and leak free.

Is my Wastegate Bad or leaky??

If I take a hose and Connect it from the boost source outlet to the wastegate side port it boosts at exactly 3.65 psi which is what my spring is...that sounds to me like the wastegate is fine...but I don't know how to tell for sure. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have some tips for me?

Check out the tech guide...I found this in about 2.5 seconds....I know paul has a couple diagrams for this too for people using external wastegates, and external wastegates with electronic boost controllers....now that thread is taking me a little longer to find.

but try this for now.

There is a good chance you have your hoses going into the MBC in the wrong direction.

Thanks Guys...I have it hooked up exactly like that. I am getting my boost source right off the outlet of the Turbo. My MBC has a Vent hole on the side of it, Is that Normal?
My boost contrller looks EXACTLY like the one in the thread you posted. I don't think its the MBC or its install. I'm leaning towards the wastgate being a cheap pice of shit.

and to answer Pauls Question...I have NO idea who makes this wastegate...my buddy gave it to me for free. I'm guessing it a piece of shit.

I took my home air Compressor and set it to 4psi and hook a line from my wastegate to my home air comp and it lifted the wastegate valve right up and I can't see or hear any leaks.

I don't know what to do? I guess I should just buy a new Tial wastegate.

well there ya go, saved you some skrilla aka (money), and diagnosed the problem without spending extra cash, its a very tempting thing to do so congrats.

well glad to hear ya got it fixed, but I bet a part of you is disappointed you don't have a reason to put a nice shiny new Tial under the hood ROFL

I made a mistake diagnosing a problem once and it costed me $350, oops, (thought fmu was bad, turned out to be the fuel pump) but it's ok because I ended up with an sfmu which I probably would have bought down the line anyways
