Difference in wastegate applications

Just wanted to know what the difference in turning up the boost with a internally & externally wastegated turbo. Any info would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks.

External wastegates regulate boost better. Internal gates on a big turbo, many times can cause boost creep or boost spike.

And there you have it. Simple as you please.

There are very good internal aftermarket gates that work well on the larger turbos, but they're adjustable and an upgrade from any stock internal. AGP does a great job with theirs for example.
