Downpipe question

I bought a turbo header off of ebay, and the guy put the t3 flange in the center of the log instead of offset to the right like all of the others, and the muffler shop is having a hard time making me a down pipe. Most manifolds the flange is somewhere inbetween the letter HC on the letter on top of the valve cover, but mine is inbetween the letter OH so it is shifted over to the left about 2 inches. THe tubo is internally wastegated and has the three bolt design, he said that we could probably get it in there if that middle bolt at the bottom was shorter or not there. Do ya'll think we should try to remove the bottom stud aso we can go straight down with it. I got the flange and a gasket for it , do ya'll think the gasket will make a good enough seal. His shop can't make u bends with a smaller radius of 4 inches. So what do ya'll suggest we try to do? thanks for the help and sorry about the long post.

I was doing some research tonight and found a custom down pipe and I figure it would work considering the tight radius I need. You cut the pipe in small pie slices and weld them together one by on until you get the radius you need. Do ya'll think this will work or not? thanks

bump because I am curious about the fabrication of the DP. I too have a central mounted t3 flange. So there will be a tight space between the DP and the AC lines.

I don't know about your turbo but, my T3 came with long studs, the muffler people took the long ones out, and replaced it with shorter ones. so they could get the clearance they needed to put it on. THey finally got my downpipe connected and are finishing my intercooling pipe right now. But I will probably have to wrap the radiator hose and the down pipe with exhaust tape to prevent it from getting to hot. Bottom line if the studs are short than you should be alright if not the muffler people can probably fix it for you. I still wish it was offset to the right though. thanks

What manifold did you guys get? I've seen some in the dead center - but most offset to the right

I bought my manifold from a guy a ebay who is from canada. He did a great job welding it, but the flange was in the center which is okay I guess, but it doesn't give you a lot of room to work with. My local shop got one put on there and it work great no leaks. I wanted 2.5 inch downpipe but all they could make me was a 2.25 inch down pipe.

Hey I have the same manifold, aswell as a bunch of other people. That guy from canada, Jason something he made mine too. Could I see a pic of your Set-up espescially the Down pipe so that I could see how to make mine. All the pics Ive seen have offset flanges so i would like to see how they did yours.

yeah I will take some pictures first thing when I get off from work tomarrow. I must warn you my downpipe looks ugly as sh..,but it works and that is all that matters.!
