i was woundering or if anyone has, how much boost do u think u could run with fully built engine,safc,8 injector setup, star 2 kit???if money wasent a problem had the best for this engine? thanks

Crazy is right....20+ boost the fuel is the key...once you figure that out boosting is not much of a problem.

there are always people on www.2gnt.com selling 8 injector setups that they have built themselves for 4-500 bucks

i have heard nothing but problems coming from people with the aem stand alones
but if you want to only have 4 injectors and use a EMS
go megasquirt

does anyone know where to get the 8 injector setup other than the actual manufacture?and do u guys think its better than the aem standalone?

Nothing!!!
Nothing !!!!
is better than a Full Standalone

No piggy back system can do what a full standalone can do, That is why a full standalone is sooooo expensive.
Yes a piggy back could control an extra set of inj's and a standalone could do the same thing

if money is no option then the Q's answer's it self "STANDALONE"
or
you have to ask yourself if you realy need to go all out and and take a step in that direction and go wiht the full standalone??
Well do ya??

as far as how much boost
it will all come down to tunning if you have good tunning 20-30psi or even higher could be possible

I say go full standalone you won't regret it :dsm:

What problems are those? I would really like to hear your educated opinion on the AEM EMS.

if by educated opinion you mean have i installed one and had problems then no i have no educated opinion
so if you would actually read the post instead of trying to interject an asshole comment you would see that I HAVE HEARD people have problems

if you would search this as well as the 2gnt forum you will see that there are not many people using the system because those that have tried it have problems adapting it to our cars

and if you would do a search on the internet you would find the AEM officialy supports only the GST and the 3g 2000-2002 2.4l MT'

so you tell me is adding an engine management system in a car that it was never designed for worth the hassle

not when you can completely install a megasquirt for less than half of the aem

next you are going to tell me that i am guessing when i say that you will have problems trying to fit a 4G63 into my GS.

or if we need to get more basic
that you will have problems trying to fit a square peg into a round hole

same principle
if it wasnt made to go then it probably shoud not

asshole comment? Great info BTW..

What is this then:

Hmmmm..let me think who has the only turbo 420a with a AEM EMS ;)

What are the EMS part#'s on the race cars?
http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=8607

What EMS part # do I have? 30-1050

I think I can stop here...

fine you win
personally
i have better things to spend 1500 bucks on
especially when i can get my megasquirt, injectors, and allother fuel related items for well under the price of just buying your kit

ok so you managed to get it working
in your own post that your linked to it says that they had to custom make a crank trigger part with the help of an AEM tech

THAT IS THE PROBLEMS THAT I WAS ORIGINALLY REFERRING TO

it is not a direct drop in bolt on

so lets all sing the praises of the guy who had to have the most expensive toy on the block

but you are right
i was wrong

i bet you did finally managed to get the peg in the hole too didnt you
doesnt mean it was easy

Who cares if it is a direct bolt in...If so everybody would be buying Hahn kits

I see your point in the cost factor.. I'm tired of playing with crappy toys. I have already tried the cheap stuff in this order (Craptech FPR, Missing Link, Vortech FMU, SFMU, SAFC2) The only good parts are the SFMU and SAFC2

If you want full control of your engine and not use your stock PCM at all...

Control your boost, nitrous, water, traction control, whatever, plus a million other options that are already built in.

if this doesn't change your way of thinking I can't help you..read this and tell me how your MS fairs up:

"No Guesses - if you don't know, don't reply - don't spread misinformation (no "I think" or "I guess" or "I've heard"). "

"No "Use the Search" replies - answer the question, link to the answer, or don't reply. "

These lines are posted on the Reply form and they're there to help reduce the BS in the forums. We'd like to get people out of the habit of replying with things "they've heard". If you want to help the guy, answer with firsthand experience, or point him to a page that has the info - without telling him to search for it. Give the guy his options and let him decide which way he wants to go. If it's not an easy plug-and-play affair, fine. It's not cheap, fine. Will it work? Why or why not? What exact problems are people encountering? This is the important info. Just telling him "I've heard people have had problems" doesn't answer anything.
