I have a stock :dsm: 96' RS with 75,000 Miles on it. It runs perfectly and have replaced all belts, and tensioners about 1,000 miles ago. I dont know a whole lot about cars but I am not an idiot and Im taking Auto Classes all summer.

Basically my question is this, I live right outside Chicago and want to turbo my car, Im lookng at HAHN since there located very close to me. I was wondering if I need to rebuild first or I can just install a turbo on my stock block. I know I cant really run more than 8PSI on a stock block but thats fine for now. I just wanted to know if I need to do anything befor turbo.

Also does anyone know if HAHN installs there kits as well for an additional fee cause I dont really wana mess with something this complicated as of now.

Thanks in advance guys appreciate it
Nick

They do install kits for an extra price. If you buy a kit from them, it will come with everything you need.

I would recommend you do a compression test before you turbo your motor just to ensure that its running well.

where are you outside of chicago? im just north

anyways, do a compression test and if your numbers are good your car will be able to handle the turbo, at least for a little bit. but seriously, read the instruction manual, and search your ass off untill your eyes bleed on every possible subject on the 2gnt.com forums, you i have no doubt you will be able to install it yourself. its really not that complicated. good luck :thumb:

Thanks dude, I would really appreciate help when i get it if your available. I live in Cook County, 20 mins in the Western Suburbs. La Grange.

Ive been doing some reading all afternoon and it seems like its mostly bolt on, Ill definetly run a compression test first though.

My cousin and i installed my kit and i just graduated from highschool. The only thing i had done before the turbo kit was changing my oil. If i can do it, TRUST me, you can too! good luck!
