I hear of all these complaints about the fuel pump being so loud. Its kinda discouraging me on getting a high flow fuel pump. My kit is almost complete except for the pump. Now, ived done some research and found out that there are some kits that help reduce this noise.
Since the whining noise is caused by lack of power to the pump, (hence noise is much prevalent during idle, less charging going on). When using the stock power wire with a higher flow fuel pump, it would obviously have a negative effect on voltage transfer. Now changing the power wire to the pump with a bigger gauged wire should increase the amount of voltage going to the fuel pump and less whining will occur... right? It all makes sense to me, but i have yet to hear anyone talk about it or suggest it to slightly irritated drivers with an annoying fuel pump?
I really want to get this turbo kit up and running. This is the only thing im wondering about. If this isnt a solution, are there any out there? Any comments or input would be appreciated! Thank you!

I have a 255 , as soon as you hear your exhaust it will be gone , or just alittle music.
its not that loud , its just louder than stock thats why people say stuff. you want loud ? there a TT mustang here that whines so freaking loud.,......sounds like a vaccume cleaner at idle.

Well, thats the thing, its my misconception on how loud it will really be. I havent heard anything but complaints. But ill go with what you say. I guess anything right now is worth having more power. I know that walbro maeks a 190 fuel pump. Would that still provide enough fuel and be a little more quite?

Thast tru but how many people will come on here and be like i love the sound of my walbro its great LOL , and even iff yes a 190 and rewire witll be pleanty. just throw a towel between it and the seat .... that should quiet it ya know ? :thumb:

Okay so if the fuel pump is a loud winey sound like I'm thinking of, it might be like my car where my amp power and ground wires are to close together, so it gives me this loud winey sound that I think you all are talking about. I've gotten used to it and with a little music its gone. Not to mention when I'm just drving without music people think I'm supercharged, and I just laugh, especially when they say it after I've punched the gas and it takes forever to get up to speed.

With all that said, maybe another solution to this problem is moving the ground wire away from the voltage wire that charges the fuel pump. I really haven't looked at the fuel pump set up that you are all talking about, but if its like the same noise with my amp, then putting some distance between the power and ground wires will help.

the fuel pump wines because it works harder and faster than the stock one. thats all if you don't want that sound don't try to go fast.
as for the winey sound from your stereo: it's not from the amp power and the ground it is from the amp power and your rca cables. get a ground loop isolater and don't run your rca's on the same side of the car as your power line. that should take care of that. if it don't then get a better amp.

Good one! never run rca's on the same side of the car as your power wire is on..... :D
