colder plug --star stage II kit

help my kit is on the way from jtmotoring and I need to find a colder plug but my parts guy is puzzled? What is this I've heard on the missing link for 95-96 is not really necessary? that the computer won't freak out on me ...

you want an NGK bkr7e spark plug for turbo use.

great news on the plug but why is the 95-96 different then the 97-99 computer ---basically the same setup I know the early 95 has a totally different computer but the 96 is just like the 97's

you have to change plugs when you go turbo? why? and where can i get them and what is the gap set at?

because of detonation I guess anything to lower the risk of engine damage because of boost levels

you dont have to change plugs. its only recommended to run a colder plug. its also better to gap them down to say .035 rather than leaving them gapped large.

the wider the gap the hotter and more energy the spark has--- great suggestion!

Either go with the colder plug as listed above or just gap your original plug a little lower just make sure they are all gapped the same! :laugh:

i think i will gap the first 2 at .035 and the las 2 at.050 :thumbdown

what a riot!but seriously I'm going with the colder plug and use premium fuel to keep any chance of detonation down also our cars have a knock sensor which retards the timing when it senses taps or pings in the motor

I have the iridiums in mine right now. About 1100 miles on them and still strong.
