map sensor or what?

I have installed my star turbo kit, I have the missing link for the map sensor, but i am still having some problems. When I crank it up it will run fine, but the check engine light still turns on, when it does it changes the idle and will not rev up past 3,000 rpm. Until the check engine light kicks on, it works fine, i have tried to find the answer here but i didnt find anything. I do not have the vortech smu, will i need this to fix this problem, please help i need this thing running really soon. thank you

I had this problem too it wouldn't rev passed 4k, it's the missing link, recheck everything and make sure all the wires are spliced in right.

missing link is mechanical aka no wires. go to autozone and find out what code you have. that should be the first step before you go guessing what the problem could be.

You said that you dont have an SFMU.. do you have any type of fuel pressure regulator?

he's prob got the fmu with the star kit(hopefully u got it hooked up right)..make sure u have that lil filter in the missing link to and double cheak for any vac leaks.
