I am new to the forum so be easy on me as this has probably been covered.

I got a stock turbo setup from a 93 tsi...(manifold , turbo, ic piping, smic, and downpipe) for $300 ....and no it doesn't leak oil.

Basically i want to know is what has been proven to work for fuel management....i.e. greddy e-manage, megasquirt, eic, etc. And what size injectors i should get to support 5-8 psi.

A friend is running the e-manage on his nissan, and it works great since he can control fuel and timing, but since i am new to the DSM's, i have no idea if this works well.

Also as far as the knock sensor goes.....is the stock sensor worth a damn for pulling timing if knock is present, or is there a good upgrade for it if it isn't.

If i am missing anything else, please feel free to make suggestions.

Most proven fuel controller/airflow signal resistor is the Apex SAFC or GM MAF-T. Best sized injectors would be 390cc/min injectors from an automatic turbo talon. Make sure you get a larger fuel pump.

Knock sensor with the use of the stock TURBO ECU is great. Pulls timing over 7 knocks and is a good fail safe.

OK, might sound dumb, but what is a GM MAF-T?

Is the stock Turbo ECU plug and play, or is there re-wiring that is involved? Also if the stock turbo ecu is used, couldn't i just use a MAF from the TSI? And will the SAFC/Turbo ecu combo give me enough flexabilty in tuning where it is only +/- 20% correction?

GM MAF-T is a system which uses the MAF/MAS out of a General Motors (YUCK!) 94-2002 V6.

With that converter, it allows you to change the signal at certain rpm points.

SAFC allows for corrections at 7 or 8 rpm points under certain throttle points +/- 30%. The turbo ECU is a plug and play, you just need to wire in the knock sensor and get a resistor pack for the turbo injectors. They are low impedance and without resisting the ohms, you'll burn them out.
