So if the engine has been completely taken apart, and getting all new parts (i mean everything) how do i get the crank to cams/valves timeing back on. so that i get the crank to valves position right, so i don't crunch the valves. and as an added question, anyone know any good advance or retard to give a little more pick me up.

Do you have a manual for the car? If not I suggest you pick one up or go to www.2gnt.com and in the forums look for a post by darkone. He has a link in his sig to an online manual that will talk about timing. You have to get the crank timing to 1/2 tooth before TDC then aligin your cam gears to TDC and get the belt installed. I hope you marked your cam gears though when you removed them... And the motor was at TDC when you took it apart right?

why would it mater if it was at TDC? it was out of the car, and i took everything out of it, i didn't mark the cams gears, because i'm changing them same as my cams, and everything else, but i did take a pic of how they lined up.

if you have any two cylinders at TDC, you should not roll the cams or you can and probably will cause damage to your valves and/or pistons. When you goto line everything up, you set your crank a litttle before TDC on cylinder 1 and 4 then get your cams close to where they are supposed to be. Then set the crank at the timing mark. If you are using adjustable cam gears, you should index them to 0 adv/red and you will adjust them later when you tune the engine.

Thanks for the info, i actually figured that out not long before i completly checked the manuel
