I'm sure this gets asked alote, but from i'v seen not many people have there cars built like this. so i was hoping you guys could give me some sort of idea of what hp i could be runnin? ( i need to know because its on jack stands now, and i need to buy axles and not sure which to get.) ok her goes... ENGINE FIRST... 16 Eaton PT Cruiser Lash Adjusters (Lifters) * 16 PT Cruiser Cam Followers (Rockers) * ARP head studs * S.A. Gear Timing Belt * FelPro Complete Head Gasket Set * 1 Pair of Crane DOHC Cams 0014, * 1 Pair of Crane Adjustable Cam Gears * Crane Valve Springs, * Clevite 77 Rod Bearing Set * Clevite 77 Main Bearing Set * Total Seal Piston Rings * Melling Oil Pump * Eagle Specialty Forged Rods * 8.6 JE Pistons... TURBO NEXT...Hybrid T3/T4 60 Trim Ball Bearing Turbo * 2.5” downpipe * 2.5” Test Pipe * 2.5” INTERCOOLER PIPE * FMIC * Greddy Type S BOV * Tial 38MM Waste Gate * Vortech Super Fuel Management Unit * Missing Link * Walbro 255lph pump * Denzo 440cc Injectors* All SS Braided fuel Lines * SS Braided Oil Lines * Cold Air Extension W/ Filter * full 2.5" Dynomax exhaust...TRANS ECT... LSD * stage 4 spec clutch with alum fly wheel. I think thats it, i havn't even moved the car since i bought it stock, so i'm not sure what kinda of hp were talkin, i'v built this setup from my general knoledge of burners, but i'm not sure how much psi to run to this setup, and after the psi anyone have a guess as to how much ph i'll have? ( just as a side note, after the proper breakin, i'll be talkin it straight to a dyno to have it perfectly tuned.) (oh and a NX 75 wet shot of N20 just to top it off )

You will soon find out that your hp goals will be directly affected by what size injectors you have and what kinda fuel management you choose. From what I can tell from your list, you should be seeing somewhere in the high 200whp range. From there, I think that you would need some other fuel management system such as the 8 injector setup ( 034eic ), standalone, or HRC's new portfueler 8 injector setup.

Keep in mind that the motor setup should be able to handle all the hp you will be able to throw at it. If you dont want to worry about the axles, then get the best. IF your hp goals don't require say, a stage 5 axle, then don't bother. A stage 3 might suit you fine.

FIgure out exactly what you want from your setup and your car as a whole and go from there.

Good luck!

thanks that was very help full! in reguards to the crank, could u give an address of where to check out staged cranks? oh and if i do the hahn set up, what kinda a psi u think i could push? oh and on top of that, what kind of axles u think i should us? thanks again!!
(oh and i checked out your car, wow thats nice!!!!!! i never new dsm's could look that nice!)

You DONT need to go to a stronger crankshaft. HRC is still using the stock crankshaft, and they are producing over 600hp. FTY ( Faster Than You ) sold a forged crank, but I think that is a BIG waste of money. I have NEVER heard of anyone destroying a stock crankshaft.

BTW, I think that Faster Than You is not going to offer that anymore anyway, cause VT engines made all of the engines/packages that Faster Than You sold, and they are no longer building the 420A engines.

You will be fine with the stocker.

You could just get your stock crank balanced and knife edged. But you need to balance everything else though. I took my block to a machine shop and they did it for me in about a week! They even balanced my underdrive crank pulley. It was a while back (2 years) but it cost about 350.

As far as the fuel setup. If you are really serious you need just get rid of the FMU crap and get a stand alone engine management with some huge injectors. My car is at torquefreaks and they are tuning right now for the AEM EMS and Accel/Hahn 800cc injectors. I guess we will see what the new WHP will be.... :thumb:

question... should i get the AEM EMS if i am going to get the new hahn port fuel injectior setup? (sorry about all the little questions, i'm more of the instal, and macanix of cars, and not so much of the tuning) oh and what stage of axles u think i should get? I'd be able to figure this but i don't have any idea of the horse power i'll be pushin, oh and i found a place that sell them, buy its pretty $$ and the longest warranty they have is one year. (that seems a bit shaddy to me)

No - You will not need to get the AEM EMS if you get the Portfueler. It would be kinda redundant to have 2 systems that can control fuel. YOU ONLY NEED ONE or the other.

Axles - depends on the ending hp goal you plan to have. You can look at Driveshaftshop.com to see what stage they offer for each hp level. They can be pricey especially after you go past stage 3, but if you are wanting gobs of hp, then you will need them, especially if you plan on racing the car at all.

If you just want something a bit stronger, and a bit less expensive, and you dont plan on being too hard on the car on the street and at the track etc. then MachV.com sells some axles that are 30% stronger than the stockers. I think that they run about $244 each.

yeah i was looking drive shop, i'm thinkin the level 5, but the 1 yeah warranty that seems a bit shaddy, doesn't it to u? is there any axles out for us or i guess at all that have a life time warranty? (side note...thanks for all your help so far!!)

I personally am not aware if there are any other companies that manufacture beefier axles for us. The 1 year warranty seems to be OK. I am surprised that there even is a warranty at all. For instance, I spent $2600 the stroker motor for my car, and it came with NO warranty at all. Not even from failure due to build and/or workmanship etc. The fact that Driveshaftshop even offers a warranty attests to the fact that they at least stand behind their products somewhat. If you are producing the hp that warrants axles such as the stage 5, I would imagine that they would go through a lot. If you dont break them within a year of hard use, I really dont think that it will be too much of a concern that you will break them.
