i have a friend that is going to get me a turbo off a 90ish eagle talon...he said it works and looks awesome...for $25...its just the turbo...i'm just wondering what I really need to completly turbo charge my car...i have read about how you need an intercooler and re-run piping and all that, but the guy he is getting the turbo from(his neigbor, has a couple of moddified imports, including a civic si with an integra engine in it) said that all i would really need to do is the manifold and hook up the oil/coolant lines, a few other things, and that an intercooler is optional to make it even better...is he whacked on smack or is that really all i would need to do? i realize its quite a bit of work and money,(i know my best bet is to sell the car and just get an awd turbo, but i want to keep MY car)....thanks..i know there are alot of threads about making a n/t - turbo, but im basically asking if its worth the $25 turbo...

custom fab manifold (or maybe the turbo one fits..not sure...check on that) - 150-500
custom 2.5 turbo back exhaust - 350
oil lines, coolant lines - 125
custom intercooler pipes - 200
1g bov - 60
boost controller - 75
boost gauge - 50
EGT gauge - 100
1g SMIC - 50

those are pretty much the necessary things to get it turboed and running. now if you want to run more boost, heres some more things you will need

450cc injectors - 50
walboro 190 fuel pump - 85
apex safc2 - 300
forged pistons - 350
forged rods - 350
act 2100/2600 - 350

so it would probably cost about 2 grand to get it turbo'ed....i have a friend with a 90 laser rs n/t, so i think ill see if he wants the turbo...hes also got the money for it...thanks for the quick responce :thumb:

it wont cost nearly $2000. it will be much cheaper, especially if your getting a cheap turbo. you can go to a junk yard and get an exauste manifold and down pipe from a 1g for cheap. theres a tech article on it.

duh! i didnt think of that...last time i went there was a 1g talon tsi on its side, and a few other dsm's(i think there might have been one other turbo)....i will have to check that out...thanks...

There has been a few people that have turboed theirs for way under 2 grand. I am turboing mine right now and i have upgraded a lot of parts and it is way under 2 grand. I have 2g pistons, 2g MAF, Spec2 clutch holding 300lbs of torque, 2.5" full exhaust, FMIC with full 2.5" intercooler piping, 90 style Oil cooler, 90 turbo ECU, boost and A/F gauge, S-AFCII, 255 lph fuel pump, 450cc turbo injectors, turbo FPR, turbo knock sensor and maybe a few more small parts.......this all costing definatly under 2 grand...but i got some deals here and there  All i am saying is that it can definatly be done for WAY cheaper then 2 grand!

well first, your under 2 grand because your missing some of the most expensive parts, the turbo and manifold, o2 housing and downpipe.

but, also, some of those parts arnt necessities to get a turbo system running, just extra stuff to make sure nothing breaks
