I recently bought the stage 1 hahn race craft turbo kit it is almost fully installed and about to hit the streets, the hrc stage 1 comes factory set at 5psi, i have plugs and wires and a apexi n1 cat back exhaust, os my question is how can i turn up the boost just a pound or 2, thanks

the easiest way is with a boost controller such as a greddy spec II

before the stage 2 upgrade was installed in mine it would only hit about 4-5 psi depending on my shift rpm
when i had the stage 2 upgrade installed
it came with a 9psi wastegate but i already had the spec II so it was a mute point

i do have plans on intercooling it just need a some bills, but now my new question is what if i come across a nice intercooler, lets say a front mount or even a side mount how will i get the piping done, and my other question of corse is what do you think i might run in the 1/4 mile i have as far as preformance goes good plugs and good wires and the apexi n1 exhaust so what can i expect and yes it is a 5spd :dsm: :thumb:

i wouldn't go over 5lbs non-intercooled,once u get the intercooler then up the boost to about 7-8lbs.i'd say u prob run mid to low 15s on a stage 1,high to mid 14s on stage2 or better..thats depends on how well u drive.

If the boost is higher do you get a louder blow off valve sound? or is it all the same? not to familiar with turbo engines, I previously had n/a cars (camaro, corvette, and a civic)

The sound has nothing to do with it.. It is kind of like a loud exhaust on a civic...doesnt' do anything except for it sounds cool when you shift. The sound has to do with the relief in pressure betweens shifts. :dsm:

can you explain why it has 5-7 psi on their site then? for only stage 1

well the car will be done soon and then i can let everybody know what it can do and i try to have some times by this saturday comming up well i guess when i get the car running ill break in the turbo some then try to get it turned up a pound or two but should i buy a boost controller and if i do then what one do i want or can i take it to some import shop and pay some one to turn it up for me or does it not work that way and i was hoping my car would run atleast a 14.5 because on there sight it says that a all stock eclipse with the stage 1 runs a 14.5 and i do have a desent exhaust shouldnt have too much back pressure, at least i hope not, and not to mention that when i talked to the owner of the company he told me that the test with the stage 1 was preformed on a rs automatic, his wifes car, so hopefully my 5spd well help some but if anyone that has the stage 1 HRC kit please let me know what you were running with the stage 1 so i can get a idea who i can and cant play with around where i live things for everyones info it help me alot :dsm:
