since the engine might be seized, and your gonna do a swap, you might as well drop in a 4g63t engine, 6 bolt, then you can have a turbo car with non turbo insurance :thumb:

since you got a 1g, i would say:
get a NT jdm long block. they sell for 500, i can recommend you a guy that sold me a very nice one. great quality. then before you put it in you car, press some new turbo pistons on your low mile big rods.
balance shafts out, turbo 5 speed cams, turbo oil pan, and the other items you need for the conversion.
get a new clutch from cap clutch for around 250 (support around 250 hp).
turbo ecu, etc and you are ready to go.
not easy but worth doing, and please do it now that you need a block. don't wait till you save more money or you'll never do it.
you'll have a turbocharged dsm for under 1500 (if you do it yourself), and the insurance will be cheap.
good luck man.
