Turbo kit

Hey, i've been reading alot of threads about turbo swaps and star and hahn turbo kits. I know they make the different stage kits for The 2g eclipses, but do they make complete stage kits for the 1g, and if they do are they street legal? And if anyone knows if they arent street legal, what can be done to make them Street legal. I'm asking about a turbo kit for a N/T 1g eclipse. i understand about running lesser amount of boost and engine integrals. If anyone knows about a 1g turbo kit, please let me know, Thank You

prostreetonline has a turbo kit for the 1st generation eclipse with the 4g63 engine, its a t-25 turbo(stock 2nd gen turbo) thats set at around 6-7lbs of boost, it comes with all the necessary parts manifold downpipe etc...theres two different kinds, the superior kit and the extreme kit, the extreme kit comes with an intercooler and a few other parts, and you can get it with a ball bearing turbo, their around 2500-2800 dollars for the kit.

Yea, I've been to that site, and this is what i e-mailed them. I don't know if this kit is street legal, i want to be able to install a turbo kit and not have any problems with driving it around and getting it inspected. I live in New york and i need it to pass the emissions.

Matthew, the TSI kit is not street legal. You shouldn't have any check engine lights popping up. You might not pass visuals for smog.

The TSI Extreme Turbo kits, for example for a 93 eclipse non - turbo. Is that street/emission legal after you install it? I know it comes with everything to make it run, but will there be a problem with a check engine light or emissions when you go to get it inspected in New York state?

i doubt it will fail emissions, it would be just like having a gst eclipse

No. Its made specifically for the NT 4G63.

just out of curiosity... i know a few who would be intrested in tuboring a 1.8..... and i also know.. some 2.0 stuff bolts to the 1.8 .. so my question is... w/ little modification, does anyone think this would work on a 1.8? maybe yall know more then i do.. LoL
