MS Decel Fuel Cut

For anyone who has installed a wideband on their factory controlled motor (before they ran MS or 8inj setup), you have ###### noticed that when you take your foot off the gas the AFR goes to complete lean until you press the gas again. This saves fuel.

After installing the MS you ###### noticed the EGO correction tries to add fuel when you decel. This wastes fuel and doesnt make much sense. I found the fix!

The MS program only sees decel for 2 ms when you let off the pedal. After that 2ms the MS ECU considers the "0" TPS signal to be a condition it calls "Over-Run". To make the MS ECU cut all fuel while you are completely off the pedal you need to alter the OVER-RUN settings in Megatune.

I have yet to play with this but here are some starting settings

Drop down menu "General", click Over-Run Settings

TPS Lower Than enter value of 5

coolant greater than enter value of 160 or 170

After (sec) enter value of 2 or 3

Try that if you have time and let me know what your results are.

Terry

When I get mine done...should I install as normal, then change the settings so that I may see the difference?

Update, got this to work well.

Here were my settings

RPM: 1500
And KPA: 100
TPS lower: 34......this will vary on your car. Use the RAW ADC found in the TPS calibration function. Add 2 to the value when the TPS is fully closed
Coolant Greater 170
After sec: 2

These settings work well for me and save a fair share of fuel. I get close to 27 mpg if i only boost once in a while.

What you will notice is after 2 secs on Decel the AFR will go completely lean as the MS cuts fuel. Recovery should not be an issue either when you step on it or start to accell. If it is then you need to adjust your accell enrich.
