stock shifter question

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone knows whether or not a 99gsx stock shifter would fit on a 97 gs?

Yes, same-same. Save up the nickles and go for a B&M Short Shifter, it's worth it.

Or you could cut the shifter down about 2inches and go get it welded. Much cheaper than B&M even though it's not quite as effective.

I just orderd a B&M. Is the height the same as stock? If so, how much should I cut it?

A lot of people with it have said that it is the same height. I personally have never seen one but I'm sure that you could take a good inch and a half out.

I just installed my shifter after taking an inch out of it (stock shifter) and it worked fine. Throw is about the same distance but I can get to my radio now while in 5th.
