Shakey passenger side

So I feel this vibration when i accelerate even a little bit, and it feels like it could be axle related. I have replaced the trans, the drivers side axle and most braking components. I have no shimmy in the brakes when i use them, and the vibration or shake only exists on accel. Could it be that the damper on the axle is bad or the actual CV joint has gone out? Im about to just replace it to see. Perhaps its bent??? A bent axle would feel terrible all the time though would it not

I'd recommend starting at the tire and work your way in. Jack up the tire and spin it. Check for any irregularities like slight bulges or uneven wear. Might even want to get your tires balanced. I've had a similar situation to yours and it ended up being a bulge in the tire. However, the tread had worn down in that spot as the bulge grew so the tire was still round. However it made a thump noise at certain speeds. Took careful inspection of the tire to find it. Even potholes will bend rims so it might be worth watching the tire shop balance it on their dynamic balancer.

Onwards...check the suspension and ball joints on that knuckle. Do you have a spare axle you can swap in? That'd be the last thing I'd check.

Oh, and hows the shock on that side? I was watching a van go down the road yesterday and one tire was going up and down. THe rest were nice and steady. I'm guessing his tire was out of balance and his shock had been ruined from the bouncing action cause it wasn't doing anything at all.

Tires all seem good...i am really low, so camber is an issue, however i replaced all the brakes and wheelbearings up front, and i just had these tires put on about a month ago, and they were spin balanced. I guess that just leaves the axle, my shocks and springs are all new(less than one year) it rides rought, but not bouncy, so that should rule out the shock...im just gonna do that axle and see what happens...the oem replacement is like 60 bucks so we'll see is that does it

Well $60 for an axle isn't really that bad. When you get that tire up in the air really "hog" on it back and forth and up and down (don't knock it off the jack!) to see if there is any other probs with knuckle, steering, etc. Good luck!

PS Post back up when you figure out what it was.

If you just put your tranny back in, it could be your alignment. Anytime you take anything off of your suspension/steering an alignment is a pretty good idea.

Yea, I went to school at ATC which is in Exton PA, and im gonna see if their steering and suspension class would align it...since its a learning experience they will do it for free I also took a class there called advanced engine performance, and they have a dyno...a water dyno, so im tryin to see if i cant kill 2 birds with one stone here. So im gonna do the axle first, then im gonna do the alignment and i'll be sure to let you guys know what took care of it. I also have stock motormounts, except for the rear which is full poly...could this increase alot of vibration?4lyfe

o...i put the new passenger side axle in my 97 and it helped the shake a little bit, but not completely...my neighbor says that it could possibly be the motor mounts, does this seem reasonable to anyone??? I have heard of increased vibration, but a full on shake? I'm trying to go to get it aligned on friday, and also have the wheels checked for balance. Hopefully this will be the problem and its not my mounts, but does anyone have a full poly mount kit??? How does it feel with both sides and front and rear mounts being poly? I know this is off topic...but I might as well ask now

check the "curved" lower control arm, if there is any play in the ball-joint it will cause a "shimmy" while you're in motion. I've replaced them before on my DSMs. Let me know if that helps at all.
