ok, im about to order a TSI fuel pump for my gs, both which are 1g. I just need to be insured this will help my fuel flow vs. the stock NT fuel pump like I was told because Im putting a much larger cam in and adding a cold air for better airflow and header for exhaust so I figure along w/ more air coming in my fuel pump should b upgraded to provide a bit more fuel. Btw, where is the fuel pump located in my car? LOL

You need some big cams, for the NT to support the 140 lph max of the TSI pump. The stock NT pump can support roughly 300cc injectors. Maybe just going to larger injectors might be the way to go, for now. But if you're getting it for cheap... why not... it won't hurt
BTW using some bigger gauge wire to run from the relay will also bump up the flow rate of this pump.

It will definitly give you more fuel flow potential. Not sure if it will increase your base fuel pressure though. You may want to invest in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator as well. I can say that increased fuel pressure definitly benefits the N/T. The fuel pump on your car is located under the car, inside the rear of the fuel tank.

And just so you know, when I was still N/T I was running intake/header/exhaust/turbo cams with the stock pump just fine. Although I did raise the fuel pressure and it definitly helped. For the mods you have planned the TSi fuel pump could be overkill.

could i use a regulator from the TSI? The one I was ordering was supposed to come w/ one. I have bought a stage 3 crower turbo cam for my car, I have AEM cam gears along w/ a pacesetter header and KN cold air intake but all stock exhaust until this spring. is the pump hard to get to? how can u tell after i get the pump in, if my car is running rich?

you will not need to change our your fuel pressure regulator as the nt actually runs slightly higher base pressure than the turbo cars anyways.

i'm questioning the reasoning behind getting one at all. personally i just don't think that you'll be moving enough air to really require it. the extra airflow the engine sees will easily be compensated for by the mass air sensor itself.

obvously you don't have any guages on the vehicle, much less a datalogger, and if you did i believe you'd see that you don't need this item on your vehicle and that there are better ways to spend $140 on an nt, including saving up for other parts.

also the stage 3 crower cam is going to be huge and will severely affect low to midrane torque and will drastically reduce the daily driveability of your nt. if you have some higher strength valve springs and a chipped ecu with a raised rev limiter you might be able to make use of these monster grinds, otherwise i think you'd have better results with something that's not so geared towards maximum duration and lift in a turbocharged car that is making 400whp. something like the hks 264's would be about all you need really.

all the fuel pump and regulator was going to cost me was like 15$ together from a friend actually. hmmm... i also do have valve springs for the cams but not any ecu mods. so u really think it would b pointless to upgrade the fuel after all? what kind of gauge could I use to see all this info ;) one of those afc things or whatever they r (i forgot)

gat a datalogger, that's your next best mod. will help you both tune and repair your car.

yeah, i plan on getting a laptop and getting a datalogger software for it or something. anyone know an average price for what i need besides the laptop?

btw, the reason also that i wanted the fuel pump was bcause i planned on putting a 75 shot system in my car. think i should hold off until i get the 75 shot system?im guessing so ;)

i believe the datalogger cable and software usually go for about $175

it seemed to log mine ok, although it was confused about the knock sensor.

i also didnt know the N/T ECU has a connection for the knock sensor... are you using a turbo ECU?

that's my point, it was confused that there wasn't one. i am now running a full turbo ecu and engine harness.
