Hacked up the Air can. Problem??

I actually modded my car a little today! It's amazing! Me and my dad hacked up the air can with his air chizzle and tore a big peice off. I'll have pics when I figure out how to install the digital camera and upload the pics. But now it seems to be acting up. After I moved it and stopped it started to rev up on its own. It didn't go over 1500 rpms. Is this normal? Or am I just a bad driver?? I also drove it for a little while when we went to the lagoon to take pics. When I started to take off it would go fine then start struggling like it was gasping for air. I plugged the MAF back in. I checked it twice. Or again, am I just a bad driver? I'm thinking it's just me. Tell me what you think.

You need to set your Base Idle Screw right, the new air coming into the car is much more than your old garbage can allowed, go to, http://www.plymouthlaser.com/biss.htm and learn how to, it isnt hard, just need to have a pair of aligator clips.

Why can't I just adjust the screw without doing all that clip stuff??

Well you can, but the instructions provided was for if you have to screw it in all the way, there is a problem, but if it isnt screwed in all the way, you can do it without the clips.

So.. If it isn't screwed in all the way I can just simply adjust the screw? Would it be in all the way from the factory?? If it isn't and I do put it in all the way will I have to go through the whole process?

Mine happened to be screwed in all the way when I had to adjust the biss, my car is from 93 so just check it, make sure it idling at the right rpms.
