1.8 to 2.0

Hello, I've been searching for this for awhile, but can't seem to find it. I have a 92 Eclipse with a 1.8l. My friend Jesse has a 93 Eagle Talon 2.0 N.T. He wrecked it about a month ago, and totaled it. Every thing except for the front 1/3 of the car is trashed. I bought it from him for $250, and I was wanting to know if I could swap the engines. If so what all would I need to switch over. Could I just take everything out of his car and put it in mine, or will I need to buy some other parts? One guy told me I would need to buy all new sensors, while Jesse's dad,who owns an auto parts store, told me I would just need to change the ECU's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also about how much time do you think it would take, because the shop that works on my car charges $50/hour? And please don't tell me to sell my car and buy a 2.0. I've put too much time and money into it to just sell it.

it is a very involved swap,you'd need to change the wiring harnes,tranny, axles,ECU,crossmember. other stuff that i forget,not an amateur job at all,if you don't have experience in this type of thing don't attempt it. and if you're going to anyway,atleast swap to a turbo,its not much more work at all.

i also have a 1.8 wanting to put a 2.0 engine i found in my car i met a guy who did these swaps before and he said never swap a turbo in but the 2.0 is way easier to do how much eaiser i dont know im trying to research it up too.

are the motor mount locations in the same spots? If not I'd say its gonna be difficult.

your buddys dad at the autoparts store is right all you have to do is swap the motor, wiring harness and the ecu you can us the 1.8 tranny and axles and use the same crossmember very simple swap done it in two of my cars and ive also done two tranny swaps from auto to manual they are fun let me tell you but enough about me...yes it is a little work for a beginner but it is doable..just do what i said if you have any problems email me...
