Can't Decide. Rebuild or Sell!!!!

OK, people. I am getting up there in milage. 120,xxx. I need to make a choice. Sell or just go all out. Here are my options.

1. Sell my car. I have some people who are looking. Some are very serious. If I sell it, I'm going to buy a Porsche Boxster. I found a couple really cheap ones out here. The Boxster isn't that fast, low 15's to high 14's, but they look sweet! A porsche has always been my dream car, but my talon turned into a dream car.

2. Buy a TSI AWD. Swap all my parts on to the new DSM. Then sell my ESI. I would still have a very custom DSM. Then I could focas all my money on engine mods.

3. Rebuild this beast. When I do something, I like to do it right. If I rebuild, you can be sure I will have the best of everything put in there. Its going to cost a fortune to rebuild, but not any more than to tune a Porsche or a TSI AWD. I just don't know what to do.

Well, there it is. I just don't want a car that is going to break. I know heavily modded cars usually are not reliable. I need to know if the 420a is worth building. I love the motor, and my talon looks just the way I want it to. Any input would be nice. Thanks guys! If anyone is interested in buying the car, PM me.

I think that you should build your car ( Talon ) . It may not be the fastest drag car because its FWD unless you have mad skills, but if you do things right on it, it will be a highway BEAST!

As far as the Porsche, you will get a lotta looks, but it wont be that fast and if you have to replace anything.....it will be pretty darn expensive. Your insurance will most likely go up too. If you turbo the Talon, you dont have to tell the insurance co. and will still hava a fast car. Only thing with that situation is that if you wreck the car and the motor is damaged, then you wont get reimbursed for the turbo etc.

I can't tell you what to do but your Talon can be very reliable as far as big things go. As far as little things though, any car getting up in years will need a lot of small things. You already have the looks you want out of the car why start fresh now? Any mod you do for a porsche to go faster will be BIG money where as talon has cheaper mods. As far as reliability goes once you rebuild it that's pretty much it besides the little things. The tranny in this car is a great unit and very rerely shits on people as long as you keep up on your basic maintance and don't give it a reason to break you will be fine. If you think rebulding a 420a is expensive, try a boxter... It's really up to you my friend, but if you sell I got dibbs on your hood.

build the bottom end, get a turbo on your 420a. That will be very reliable as you will have a bullet proof bottom end and the head on our cars can handle crazy HP in its stock form. Its made by lotus so not much work has to be done to our heads. Hahn ran a 10.?? on a stock head with their 420a eclipse.
