what size piping? 2.5 inch to big?

My dad was asking a at a muffler shop about putting piping on for my muffler and said he wanted 2.5 inch piping. the guy said that he couldnt put 2.5 because of the body. Or something to that effect. He said that the biggest he could do was 2 inches. i told my dad that i wasnt doubting this guy that has been doing his job for 20 years but people put 2.5 inch piping on everyday.

SO:
- Is there something special you have to do to put 2.5 on or does this guy have no clue what he is talkin about.

-would it hurt to just have 2 inch piping

P.S.
should i put a resonatore in for an N1 muffler

1) 2.5 is optimal for our NT 420a's. Lots of people make cat back 2.5's... that guy is full of shit if he says theres only 2 inch.

2) dont put a resonator in... haha. It'll make a nice low growl as is.

Yeah dont give that guy any of your business. You can fit a 2.5 inch exhaust on your car and thats the biggest you wanna go if you are N/T.

I personally know and have personally seen 3 inch piping over the axle like the stock setup. Granted that the 3 inch is usually UNDER the rear axle it can still be done.

Find another shop.
