Anybody with custom exhaust?

Hey guys I'm getting ready to buy a high quality performance muffler, and have meineke custom bend pipe from the cat to the muffler. My question is what size pipe diameter is the best? I'm sure either 2.5 or 2.25 will work, but I wonder what the difference in sound will be? I don't want it to be too loud or ricey. Also I know most good cat back kits have a resonator, what difference does it make not having one?

I have custom 2.5" with borla muffler.

I couldn't stand it without a resonator, it shook every slightly loose panel and had a flatulant bee sound at high rpms wot.

If I had to do it all over again, I would go with 2.25" same setup and maybe a muffler-style resonator on top of the resonater, but that would take some performance away.

Most of the high performance exhaust for N/T's are 2 1/4 inches. My Apexi N1 on my old N/T talon was 2 1/4 inches. So I would say just go with 2 1/4 inches.

I don't know about 1G's but that's exactly the same diameter the exhaust is stock. I don't see a point in upgrading the whole system if you're just replacing one 2.25" pipe with another. .. the muffler I can understand, though.

1g's have a stock 2 inch exhaust pipe. I would not go over 2.5 but the best for your car's performance set up would be 2.25. With a header, cat delete, and a free flowing muffler your car will flow very good and have a noticeable gain in power.
