RSX Type S Vs. 1g N/T Laser

My friend at school keeps talking shit about his stupid Acura RSX type S. Do I stand a chance agenst him stock? All I am right now is stock. But I want to show him that my car isn't a POS like he says. What should I do? What kinda of mods should I do before I race him??

rsx Type S are about as fast as a gsx stock...they runa 14.8 completely stock. I have seen a lot hit mid 15's at the track, but with the right driver they can definately post a 14 second slip....u honestly dont stand a chance unless he stalls at the line..., but i do like the idea of doing his g/f

yea 200hp stock, my best friend has one. he walked all over me when i was originally NT, not even close. I kicked his ass once the turbo was on but i was also throwing down close to 220hp at the wheels so its not suprising....but yea dood, he'll kill ya

A Type-S runs 0-60 in 6.1 says c&d. I have heard that our n/t's run low 9's. That's a huge a$$-whippin'

Dude, we don't stand a chance against the base model rsx!

I belive it posts high 15s 1/4's. I got walked off the line so bad by one of those, even had a good launch. He had 3 cars by 60mph. I've got a good amount of mods too.

bah i beat the base model RSX.We roled from 45 miles i went downt to second gear he was on 3th i think and from 45 to 60 on 2nd gear i was more then a car ahead of him,then he started catchin up but i hit the brakes cuz i was already to ahead of him and i consider the race was over cuz i was sure he would catch me up at the end of my 3th gear.

Good job. You beat someone outside their power range.

Try taking one from a dig with your 17 sec car. At least that way your both starting off in the same gear. How bad would he have walked you if you weren't in 2nd? Pretty bad is my guess. I've driven one, I can tell you it's a good bit quicker than my car, no amount of good driving on my part will put me close to that thing.

Besides this kid isn't talking about racing a base model. The type s would walk all over him.

yea the base model has a 160hp, 150ft lbs of torque. your pusing 135hp and 125 ft lbs of torque. beating one wont happen unless he stalls on the line or misses every gear shifting. those thigns have the bad ass sportronic transmissions where all u gotta do is tap up to move up a gear adn down to move down...makes for much quicker shifting.

My buddy has an RSX Type S, he pulls like 2 Cars on me, I-Vtec is a Beeyatch. They have 200HP stock and basic bolt ones like intake and exhaust free up hella HP on those (wich he has). I am hoping to keep up when my turbo kit is on (I will be around 200hp)

Have him give ya 2 or 3 cars and it would be fair

my car has about 150 HP and TQ on the crank and it wights about 2600lb with out driver and half tank of fuel so he wont be able to walk me,he ll beat me but not walk me thats for show,maybe a car ahead of me on 1/4 mile.

I have a few mods on my 94 GS and with a 65 shot of N20 it only throws down a high 15 sec. at 93 mph. I hate drag racing so it doesn't matter to me. Get him to race you InitiaL D style through some mountain passes like i do and you might be able to take him, that is if your a better driver. The non turbos are a waste of time if you only want to do drag racing. So yeah, focus your efforts on his girlfriend rather than his RSX

my brother friend has a turbo rsx, now that hauls. he had the auto...had, thats gone now, haha. power+base model auto tranny=broken tranny.

A type-s RSX against your bone-stock 1g DSM... Hell, those baseline models intimidate me and I' have a few mods (very few, getting the ball rolling, dont worry.) Just stick to 01-up and model Civics. Those are always fun to slap around.

I'd love to do his girlfriend! But, I'm not the attractive type. Plus we're only in highschool. So, uh.. Yeeah. I plan to get exhaust done, 2.5" no cat. Intake. Wanna get turbo cams put in. Pacesetter header and amybe a few other small stuff. I hope to do all this soon. But, my dad is a dick. And he is focusing on his Mustang and my Brothers Camaro. So, I can't do nuthin right now.

Yes very very broken. Makes evil grindy noises during no load shifts.
